Design: Thin corrugated stainless steel or alloy plates for high turbulence & efficiency

Gaskets: NBR, EPDM, FKM, or others depending on fluid/temperature

Flexibility: Plate packs can be opened for inspection, cleaning, or expansion by adding plates

Connections: Wide range of ports (DN25 – DN650+) with threaded, flanged, or sanitary fittings

Configurations: Counterflow or parallel flow for optimised thermal performance

Focus: Energy efficiency, reliability, and easy maintenance

Specs:

Capacity Range: From ~50 kW to several MW

Operating Pressure: Up to ~25–30 bar (higher with reinforced frames)

Operating Temp: –20°C to ~180°C (depending on gasket)

Unique Features:

  • ClipGrip™ gaskets → stay in place, easy replacement

  • CurveFlow™ distribution area → uniform flow, less fouling

  • SteerLock™ alignment → ensures correct plate placement

  • SwingFoot™ support → easier handling of large units

Best For: Energy recovery, HVAC, chemical, and power generation

Focus: Versatility and robustness, long history of reliability

Specs:

Capacity Range: From small (tens of kW) up to large units handling thousands of m³/h

Operating Pressure: Typically up to 16–25 bar (depending on model)

Operating Temp: –20°C to ~180°C (gasket-dependent)

Unique Features:

  • Classic gasket & plate design → proven performance

  • Available in wide plate gap versions for viscous/particle-laden fluids

  • Easy to service by opening frame and removing plates

Best For: General industry, marine, and oil & gas.

T-Series: Next-gen efficiency & ease of maintenance (energy saving focus)

M-Series: Proven reliability & versatility (broadest range of duties)

Both: Flexible, expandable, high heat transfer efficiency, and lower footprint than shell-and-tube

Semi-Welded Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger

Semi-Welded GPHEs

Semi-Welded GPHES are designed for demanding applications involving aggressive or hazardous fluids, making them ideal for refrigeration and chemical processes. These exchangers feature a unique design with welded plate pairs on one side and gaskets on the other, offering enhanced leak resistance while maintaining ease of maintenance. Their robust construction makes them well-suited for high-pressure and corrosive operating conditions.

Type: Semi-welded plate heat exchangers (pairs of plates laser-welded together, sealed with gaskets between pairs)

Function: Heat transfer between aggressive fluids, refrigerants, or fluids unsuitable for fully gasketed units

Applications: HVAC/refrigeration (ammonia, CO₂), chemical processes, petrochemicals, marine, and brines

Plate Pairs: Two plates laser-welded → forms a sealed channel for aggressive/corrosive or high-pressure fluids

Gaskets: Only needed on one side (non-aggressive fluid), reducing gasket exposure

Flexibility: Can be opened for inspection and service, similar to fully gasketed units

Compactness: Smaller footprint than shell-and-tube for the same duty

Safety: Double-sealing arrangement → leaks drain outside, preventing cross-contamination

Capacity Range: Tens of kW up to several MW depending on size

Operating Pressure: Up to ~25–30 bar (higher with reinforced frames)

Operating Temperature: –40°C to ~180°C (depending on gasket & fluid)

Fluids Handled:

  • Ammonia, CO₂, and synthetic refrigerants
  • Aggressive process fluids (brines, acids, glycols)
  • Water, oil, and secondary fluids

Handles aggressive or high-pressure fluids unsuitable for standard GPHEs

More compact & efficient than shell-and-tube alternatives

Reduced gasket exposure → higher reliability and lower maintenance cost

Serviceable & expandable like gasketed exchangers

Ideal for refrigeration (NH₃/CO₂), chemicals, and marine brines

WideGap Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger

WideGap GPHEs

WideGap GPHES are specifically engineered for handling viscous or particle-laden fluids such as crude oil, biofuels, and pulp slurries. The wide channels in their design help prevent clogging and fouling, ensuring reliable performance. This makes them ideal for fluids with fibers, particles, or high viscosity—conditions where conventional plate heat exchangers may not perform effectively.

Type: WideGap gasketed plate heat exchangers

Function: Efficient heat transfer for fibrous, particle-laden, or highly viscous fluids that clog standard GPHEs

Applications: Wastewater/biogas, marine cooling water, oils with solids

Extra-Wide Channels: Designed for fibers, slurries, and particles without clogging

Optimised Plate Pattern: Balances turbulence for heat transfer while minimising pressure drop

Flexible & Serviceable: Frame can be opened for inspection, cleaning, or expansion

Material Options: Plates in stainless steel, titanium, or special alloys for corrosive media

Clean-ability: Plates can be mechanically or chemically cleaned

Capacity Range: ~50 kW up to several MW (size- and duty-dependent)

Operating Pressure: Typically up to ~10–16 bar

Operating Temperature: –20°C to ~150°C (depending on gasket)

Fluids Handled:

  • Sludge, digestates, dirty cooling water, seawater
  • Oils with solids or contaminants

Handles fibrous, dirty, and viscous fluids better than standard GPHEs

Compact & efficient compared to shell-and-tube alternatives

Openable & cleanable, unlike spiral or welded units

Flexible design → capacity adjustments over time

Extends service life and reduces unplanned shutdowns in demanding industries
