About the Alfa Laval MEP System
The MEP freshwater generator delivers large scale production capacity of 180 to 1,000 m³ per day, making it the ideal solution for vessels and offshore facilities with significant freshwater demands.
Its multi effect evaporation process achieves high output while keeping thermal and electrical power consumption low, maximising efficiency. Unlike conventional systems, the MEP maintains consistent performance even in cold seawater or shallow water conditions.
Its durable design also enables operation directly on the steam outlet of turbine generators, further optimising onboard energy use.
MEP
Produces distillate with a purity of 5–10 ppm, delivering clean, safe water for both potable and technical use. By harnessing waste heat for freshwater production, the MEP reduces fuel costs and minimises environmental impact.
